I introduce myself here properly, with a bit on my background, to potentially assist those wondering about my projects and opportunities I'm offering.
Ki and I have been together for over 11 years, as constant companion and amazing adventure dog to me. Now with us for 1 year is Ra, a strong young male dog who is happy to be under Ki as alpha female.
I built our cozy log earth-ship structure for our home on this beautiful piece of planet Earth.
I am living in service to the natural world and practice meditation daily.
I am living in service to the natural world and practice meditation daily.
I just reached my "retirement" age of 62 and have chosen to live on semi-re
mote land, in order to work with the natural resources without 'official' building requirements, so I can create the simple, artistic structures for myself and others to connect with good old mother Earth.
I was learning wilderness trail work, log construction, and dry stone masonry in the early 1980's, then building tract houses around Reno in the late 1980's, and building large and small, 'alternative construction' houses in Colorado 20 years ago. Mostly strawbale, pumice-Crete, and hike-in, remote cabins.
I've lived remotely, for many years, 'off-grid', in Idaho and Colorado, as a father with wife and 2 young boys.
I also have years of experience in photography, graphic design, computer software, restorative massage, fitness/health, and outdoor adventures.
In the last 10 years I've lived and traveled from Mexico, to Alaska and Hawaii, while working WWOOF farms or other 'work-trade' situations. I've learned about edible food growing in various climates, seed saving, plant propagation, etc.
As well, I've built several outdoor, wood fired cooking 'rocket stoves' and other structures on other people's land, all without being 'paid', but costing me money and time. Staying with homesteaders in Alaska, living in a tent under guava trees on Maui, working an organic farm in Mexico.
All of this had much greater financial outlay of cash and effort than immediate return, like a paycheck at the week's end.
I have gained a great wealth of experience from working with many people in my years, and happy to share it, along with this land for others to gain experience from.
"Chop wood and haul water", known by many as part of a lifestyle. If you would like to have this experience, maybe you'd like to visit TKiLand someday.
"Be the change" you desire to see...
Thank you,
