Attention: A calling to tree lovers, nature enthusiasts, earth dwellers. trailworkers, wilderness wanderers, ephemeral artists and other creative living folks.
Hello, I am the T of TKi Land..!
I am beginning the process of selecting individual people who want to participate in this program. I will be very selective in who will be accepted, because harmonious coexisting within the "tribe" is my intent, and essential to minimizing wasted time with potential conflicts. This is NOT a paying job. I'm a nice guy, but don't like BS'ers.
If you have interest after reading what I say here, then let's talk.
The overview is this:
1. TKi Land is privately owned by me, Tim, a fit, healthy and happy 62 year, single man.
Ki (kee) is my 10 years long, dog partner.
2. Beautiful 55 acres of steep northern California mountainside, fully covered in a diverse and healthy, mixed conifer-deciduous forest.
3. Semi-remote, wilderness feeling and views, surrounded by US Forest Service land, though only 9 miles from big town. Decent cell phone coverage in some locations. Exact location held for security.
4. The walk up to main area is 1/2 mile, on steep 4x4 road. You must be physically able to hike uphill with 30+ pound backpack. My vehicle only used for big hauls and emergency preparedness.
5. All water is hauled up as needed in dry months. Snow and rain is temporarily held for later use. Water purification used when needed.
6. Electricity is currently a small PV solar system, and no gasoline generators allowed. I have a variety of electric tools, using most of the power at times.
7. Living situation is self-reliant tent camping, providing all your own gear, food, etc., and have some prior outside living experience. Some shared resources available at my base camp. (Shower, food/gear storage, tools, greenhouse, gardens, etc.) Emphasis on quiet, peaceful, healthy and respectful habits of lifestyle.
8. Clear communication is required, though excessive talking is discouraged. Sounds of spoken poetic verse, or words musically sung are preferred.
9. Solution oriented thinking, creative, problem solving mindset, with openness to be instructed when needed.
10. Your contrbution of $10 per night stayed, and 2 hours project work time each day. Weekly or longer term people will be individually based terms.
Contributions of your time, money, skills, materials and whatever else you do, is left to be gifted, upon your departure, as a part of the land, without ownership or entitlement, though you will receive artistic credit for your creative contributions and promotional rights for you.
11. Be without addiction to alcohol, drugs or drama. Be honest, careful and kind.
You are responsible for your own safety.
12. Live daily life with conscious grattitude for our home, dear planet Earth.
You are invited to come for a day or two, and much longer, if the harmony is right.
Male or female, youthful to aged, skilled or learning. You will be respected by me.
Ki, at 10 years of age, has earned her alpha female status, but will welcome friendly dog visitors, and is very loving to good people.
Particular work projects for:
Earth shelter builders
Wood fired cook stove/oven builder
Trail workers
Tree limbing (fire prevention)
Edible/medicinal plant gardeners
Winter preparation
Sacred Space Protectors
and more....
I introduce myself here properly, with a bit on my background, to potentially assist those wondering about my projects and opportunities I'm offering.
I just reached my "retirement" age of 62 and have chosen to live on semi-remote land, in order to work with the natural resources without 'official' building requirements, so I can create the simple, artistic structures for myself and others to connect with good old mother Earth.
I was learning wilderness trail work, log construction, and dry stone masonry in the early 1980's, then building tract houses around Reno in the late 1980's, and building large and small, 'alternative construction' houses in Colorado 20 years ago. Mostly strawbale, pumice-Crete, and hike-in, remote cabins.
I've lived remotely, for many years, 'off-grid', in Idaho and Colorado, as a father with wife and 2 young boys.
I also have years of experience in photography, graphic design, computer software, restorative massage, fitness/health, and outdoor adventures.
In the last 10 years I've lived and traveled from Mexico, to Alaska and Hawaii, while working WWOOF farms or other 'work-trade' situations. I've learned about edible food growing in various climates, seed saving, plant propagation, etc.
As well, I've built several outdoor, wood fired cooking 'rocket stoves' and other structures on other people's land, all without being 'paid', but costing me money and time. Staying with homesteaders in Alaska, living in a tent under guava trees on Maui, working an organic farm in Mexico.
All of this had much greater financial outlay of cash and effort than immediate return, like a paycheck at the week's end.
I have gained a great wealth of experience from working with many people in my years, and happy to share it, along with this land for others to gain experience from.
"Chop wood and haul water", known by many as part of a lifestyle. If you would like to have this experience, maybe you'd like to visit TKiLand someday.
"Be the change" you desire to see...
Thank you,
Peace,
T
